MBA Clubs

Student clubs shape the Wharton MBA experience across a multitude of areas. They focus on interests ranging from social, cultural, athletic, and professional.

The Wharton Graduate Association (WGA) is the student government organization of The Wharton School’s graduate program. Incorporated in 1994, the WGA a non-profit organization that governs all MBA student clubs and conferences at The Wharton School. Throughout the year, the WGA coordinates, manages, and hosts student activities and initiatives. The WGA enables countless opportunities for students to develop relationships and explore your interests.

An expansive, chapter-based network of MBA students, professionals, and business leaders promoting debate and discussion about the moral, social, and economic benefits of capitalism.

Analytics Club
The Analytics Club mission is to advance the education, careers, and community of Wharton MBAs interested in data & analytics, across industries and functions. The club conducts workshops on Python, SQL, R, Tableau and other tools for data & analytics, and hosts industry speaker events with companies like Google, Palantir, Facebook, and Uber who are discovering insights and creating innovations using data.

Beauty Club
Beauty Club is for those interested in all things beauty! Christian Fellowship

Common Cents
Common Cents is Wharton’s first initiative focused on promoting personal finance literacy among Wharton MBAs and the broader philadelphia community. The club’s mission is to create an environment that allows for meaningful discussions around topics and developments related to personal finance.

Deans’ MBA Advisory Council (DMAC) provides critical leadership in helping the Wharton School accomplish top priorities. Over its history, DMAC has significantly contributed to a number of Wharton’s strategic initiatives. Among its accomplishments, DMAC has contributed to creating Wharton Welcome Weekend, establishing the cohort system, designing Huntsman Hall, and informing many technology rollouts.

All fashion and charity enthusiasts welcome, the Fashion Club plans and puts on one of Wharton’s most anticipated annual events, the Penn Charity Fashion Show.

Femtech Club
The Wharton Femtech Club’s mission is to build a community dedicated to learning, exploring, and pursuing professional opportunities in the femtech (female health and wellness) space.

The club works closely with the MBA Career Management office and corporate recruiters to put on events for students. Follies
Follies is an annual musical comedy production that pokes fun at MBA life at Wharton. Written and performed by students, Follies is one of the longest running traditions at Wharton.

The Francophone Club promotes the French culture and network on Wharton’s campus. The club mission is to spread out the French “Art de Vivre”, organize the French Trek centered on “Luxury and French Elegance”, and celebrate the diversity of all French-speaking cultures. The club connects companies and students in their job search (in France and in the US) in collaboration with the Wharton Alumni Club of Paris.

Future Mobility Club
The Future Mobility Club engages the Wharton community with exciting new innovations in the mobility space. Club members learn about the mobility industry from guest speakers, small group dinners, and conferences. The club organizes career treks, and helps members find their dream internships and full-time roles through their extensive alumni network and corporate relationships.

Golf Club
Golf Club offers players the opportunity to learn, meet fellow golfers, and play great courses at discounted rates. The club sponsors lessons, fall/spring outings, and social events.

Global Impact Consulting Club
The mission of the Wharton Global Impact Consultants (WGIC) is to provide free consulting to resource-limited social impact organizations in developing countries by mobilizing the talent & business experience of the Wharton community to contribute to social & economic development through short-term consulting engagements.

Graduate Retail Club
The Graduate Retail Club is Wharton’s premiere source of resources, events, and exclusive career opportunities related to the retail, luxury goods, and eCommerce spaces. Through partnerships with top retailers and brands, industry leaders, and our alumni across the world, the club offers a variety of programming to help develop future retail talent and enhance the status of MBAs in this rapidly evolving industry.

Jewish Associate of MBAs (JAMBA) welcomes membership from both Jewish and non-Jewish students. The club organizes events ranging from High Holiday celebrations and small group Shabbat dinners, to Jewish cultural offerings that appeal to students with wide ranges of religious expression.

Male Allies
Wharton Male Allies aims to engage men in the active pursuit of greater gender equality by increasing awareness, fostering dialogue, and encouraging positive actions. The issue of gender equality is a broad one, but the club focuses on issues within those spheres closest to Wharton: in the classroom, on campus, in the work place, and in the wider world of business.

Muslim Students Network aims to help Wharton Muslims to build faith and community by fostering a space under the guidance of Islamic principles, and to foster further development of the Wharton Muslim community.

O

One for the World
One for the World (OFTW) is a movement of people changing charitable giving to end extreme poverty.  The club educates students and young professionals about effective giving and motivates them to channel their donations to organizations that will have the greatest impact. OFTW was co-founded by two Wharton MBAs (WG14) and now has over 50 chapters worldwide. Since 2014, OFTW has donated $750k and counting to effective charities.

Penn Biotech Group (PBG) Healthcare Consulting is a cross-disciplinary student-run organization with membership across all graduate schools at the University of Pennsylvania. PBG focuses on addressing the challenges and obstacles facing the biotechnology industry today. The club provides members with education, real-world experience, and networking opportunities to enrich their exposure within the life-sciences and consulting fields.

The Politics & Public Policy Club increases awareness and discussion of domestic and international public policy issues, provides opportunities for interested students to connect socially, and is an avenue for students to pursue careers in government, politics, and public policy.

Private Equity and Venture Capital Club
The Private Equity and Venture Capital Club is committed to providing members with career and educational opportunities in private equity and venture capital. The club provides a platform for students to meet, network, and interact with leading industry professionals in the field. Pub is one of the biggest clubs on campus and a time honored tradition at Wharton. Pub welcomes MBA students every Thursday afternoon to connect, start their weekend, and enjoy beer, wine, and pub-fare foods.

The Public Speaking Club is dedicated to improving communication, leadership, and public speaking abilities for MBA students. The club provides a stress-free, supportive environment to practice and excel at public speaking. Real Estate Club
The Real Estate Club provides career development, educational events, mentorship, and networking opportunities in real estate. The club partners with the Samuel Zell and Robert Lurie Center for Real Estate and Wharton’s Real Estate Department faculty to provide a holistic experience that extends beyond the classroom and provides numerous opportunities to interact with prominent industry executives.

Rebuilding Together Philadelphia
Rebuilding Together is a national nonprofit that brings volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners. Founded at Wharton 32 years ago, Rebuilding Together Philadelphia is the school’s largest and most active community service organization. Our flagship “Build Weekend” each spring brings together Wharton, Penn Design, other graduate students, Philadelphia businesses, and neighborhood volunteers to adopt a few city blocks and help rebuild local homes and revitalize communities.

Restructuring and Distressed Investing Club
The Restructuring and Distressed Investing Club serves as an important forum for industry practitioners, academics, and students to gather and exchange ideas. Club members learn about current economic climate and issues of debt, investing, and restructuring across the globe.

Return on Equality
Return on Equality (ROE) is a student-led coalition whose vision is to make Wharton a pioneering institution that deliberately equips students to be leaders and advocates of inclusive organizational practices, enabling individuals to be recognized and valued as their whole selves. ROE equips Wharton MBA students with the skills and knowledge to become advocates and allies of diversity and inclusion in their professional and personal lives.

Roadrunners and Triathletes Club
The Roadrunners & Triathletes Club provides a venue for students to train and race together in order to achieve individual and team goals. The club brings together more than 100 students and faculty at all athletic abilities. In addition to weekly practices, the Wharton Roadrunners and Triathletes Club hosts is the annual Wharton 5K Race, open to all affiliates of the University of Pennsylvania campus as well as to the local community.

Rugby Football Club
The Rugby Football Club is the home to the Wharthogs, or “Hogs”, Wharton’s men’s rugby team. The Hogs have traditionally been among the strongest MBA rugby teams in the US and have experienced success in national tournaments and the MBA World Cup. The club hosts Hogfest, an MBA rugby tournament in Philadelphia, and team members also travel abroad for international rugby tours in South Africa or Argentina each spring.

The Russia and Former Soviet Union Club aims to serve as a platform to bring together members of the Wharton community who have personal, cultural, and/or professional ties or interest related to Russia and the FSU. The club holds various activities covering the professional, cultural/educational, and social dimensions of Russia and the FSU.

The Sailing Club serves to provide a fun environment to introduce novices to the sport of sailing and allow more experienced sailors to hone their racing skills.

Sales & Trading Club
The Sales & Trading Club provides the professional, social, and educational support to help its 200+ members in their pursuit of careers in sales and trading, research, asset management, and hedge funds. The club provides educational events about markets to the Wharton community as well as sourcing job opportunities in sales & trading, research, asset management, and hedge funds.

Scotch and Whiskey Club
The Scotch and Whiskey Club aims to educate members on all things scotch, whiskey, and bourbon. Members explore the complexity and nuances of scotch from various regions of Scotland, single malts and blends from all over the world, and hear directly from brand ambassadors of major distilleries.

Ski and Snowboard Club
The Ski and Snowboard Club (WSSC) is dedicated to the pursuit of winter sport. The club plans and executes domestic and international trips for the student body, providing opportunities for new friendships, travel and enjoying the mountains. The club is open to all ability levels and emphasizes education and the social aspects of skiing and snowboarding.

The F.C. Soccer Club unites male and female soccer players and fans at Wharton. Social Impact Club
The Social Impact Club, a chapter of Net Impact, is the largest professional student organization at Wharton dedicated to providing educational, career and networking opportunities to MBA students interested in social impact. The club’s mission is to educate and raise the awareness of the broader Wharton community on how to create impact in communities and organizations. Squash Club
The Squash Club provides opportunities for its members to enjoy the game of squash and bond in a team atmosphere on and off the court. Through weekly practice sessions and tournaments, the club will enable players of all levels to take their game to the next level.

Storytellers
Storytellers seeks to give every Wharton student the chance to tell stories that engage, inspire, and build community. Members can participate in club hosted events called Story slams, which are set in intimate local venues, with students taking the stage to share tales that fit a particular theme.

Sustainable Business Coalition
The Sustainable Business Coalition engages students interested in the intersection of business and sustainability. The club focuses on connecting students to ideas, innovation, technologies, and policies that will drive the future of industries like Energy Sources & Efficiency, Supply Chains, Agriculture/Food, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Product Design. The club aims to build a community interested in addressing global environmental issues through business solutions and increase sustainability-related academic and career opportunities at Wharton.

The Techno & House Music Club brings together electronic dance music lovers of all genres.

Technology Club

Rugby Football Club
The Rugby Football Club is the home to the Wharthogs, or “Hogs”, Wharton’s men’s rugby team. The Hogs have traditionally been among the strongest MBA rugby teams in the US and have experienced success in national tournaments and the MBA World Cup. Global Impact Consultants provides consulting services to resource-limited social impact organizations. Club members participate in consulting engagements that help private organizations with operations, business planning, start-up strategy, financial projections, and costing. One for the World
One for the World (OFTW) is a movement of people changing charitable giving to end extreme poverty.  The club educates students and young professionals about effective giving and motivates them to channel their donations to organizations that will have the greatest impact. OFTW was co-founded by two Wharton MBAs (WG14) and now has over 50 chapters worldwide. Since 2014, OFTW has donated $750k and counting to effective charities.

Rebuilding Together Philadelphia
Rebuilding Together is a national nonprofit that brings volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners. Founded at Wharton 32 years ago, Rebuilding Together Philadelphia is the school’s largest and most active community service organization. Our flagship “Build Weekend” each spring brings together Wharton, Penn Design, other graduate students, Philadelphia businesses, and neighborhood volunteers to adopt a few city blocks and help rebuild local homes and revitalize communities.

Storytellers
Storytellers seeks to give every Wharton student the chance to tell stories that engage, inspire, and build community. Members can participate in club hosted events called Story slams, which are set in intimate local venues, with students taking the stage to share tales that fit a particular theme.
