Francis J. & Wm. Polk Carey JD/MBA Program
Penn’s elite law and business schools offer the country’s first fully integrated three-year JD/MBA.
How the Carey JD/MBA Program Works
The Francis J. & William Polk Carey JD/MBA Program at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and the Wharton School immerses students in an accelerated course of study, preparing them for careers in law, business, and more. Students earn both JD and MBA degrees in three years, rather than the five years it would typically take to earn each degree separately.
Students spend their first year in the Law School and the following summer in Law and Wharton courses designed specifically for the Carey JD/MBA Program. The second and third years combine Law and Wharton courses, along with a JD/MBA capstone course.
Applying to the Carey JD/MBA Program
Applicants to the Francis J. & Wm. Polk Carey JD/MBA Program should submit the Carey JD/MBA Program application through Wharton’s application system, which includes the elements of the full-time MBA application plus a Law School supplement. Application instructions are available here and within the application. Applicants to the Carey JD/MBA Program must apply during Round 1 or Round 2 of the Wharton MBA application timeline. Applicants to the program will receive their response from both the Law School and Wharton according to Wharton’s decision release timeline.
