Hi everyone. I hope this message finds you all safe during this difficult time. We know that COVID-19 has caused both stress and uncertainty, and many of you have been personally affected by the global outbreak. I’m writing in hopes of sharing a bit of brighter news. I’m happy to announce the application dates for the 2020-2021 Wharton MBA application cycle.
Application Deadline | Interview Invitations | Decision Release | |
Round 1 | September 15, 2020 | October 28, 2020 | December 16, 2020 |
Round 2 | January 5, 2021 | February 11, 2021 | March 25, 2021 |
Round 3 | March 31, 2021 | April 15, 2021 | May 11, 2021 |
My hope is that sharing these dates will not only ease some stress but help you to feel even more prepared as you work on your application for the Wharton MBA Class of 2023. Remember, even in these trying times, our admissions philosophy remains the same: we look at every applicant holistically and believe in looking for reasons to admit candidates in every application.
Updates to Essays
As you prepare yourself to apply for the Wharton MBA Class of 2023, I also wanted to give you a heads up on a change to the forthcoming application. We are happy to report that the main topic we’d like to hear from you on, “What do you hope to gain professionally from the Wharton MBA?” has not changed; however, we have updated the second essay.
Our main goal is to get to know you the best that we can, and the change to our second prompt was largely motivated by that desire. We hope to give applicants room to reflect on their unique backgrounds and think about what their value-add will be to the Wharton community. Applicants should remember that the Admissions Committee is looking for candidates who will contribute to all aspects of Wharton life.
Both required essays can be found on our Application and Admission Requirement page.
Looking Ahead
Over the next few months, you’ll hear more from our team as we share updates to the application essays, dates for virtual visits and webinars with tips, advice and most importantly, encouragement as you plan your MBA application. Keep an eye on our Instagram account, this blog, and, of course, here on our website. In the meantime, I encourage you to connect with our office over the phone and over email and invite you to a virtual tour of the Wharton School campus. We’re here if you have any questions, and we look forward to getting to know you.
Take care and stay safe!
